Foram prorrogados mais de 140 mil contratos de crédito destinado a pessoas físicas e jurídicas dentro do banco. Esse número é praticado a partir de o anúncio da providência da pandemia do coronavírus com isolamento social.

De acordo com o governo federal, são mais de 10 mil pedidos diários. No qual é acertado por diferentes linhas que fazem parte da atitude definida pela instituição, elas são o capital de giro, crédito pessoal, crédito imobiliário e financiamento de veículos.

Em nota enviada à imprensa, o Itaú Unibanco detalha que com realização desta atitude as operações em dia são capazes de prorrogar a próxima parcela de empréstimos já abertos por 60 dias, dessa maneira, mantendo a mesma taxa contratada a princípio.

Já aqueles clientes que estão inadimplentes ou que querem realizar a contratação de um novo empréstimo não são elegíveis a esta vatagem. Além deste público, também observa-se aqueles que tenham contratado outras linhas de crédito, como o exemplo do cheque especial.

Também de acordo com o Itaú, esta atitude foi tomada como uma providência emergencial. De acordo com o banco, propósito é proporcionar flexibilidade no pagamento de dívidas nessa hora desafiadora da economia.

Para o diretor de Produtos PF do Itaú Unibanco, Flavio Iglesias, a providência foi implementada há pouco menos de um mês e o banco espera que mais pessoas possam aderir à oferta. Dessa forma, abrangendo mais clientes com a nova solução.

Além da prorrogação de dívidas, o Itaú aderiu ao fundo emergencial para o financiamento da folha de pagamentos das pequenas e médias empresas pelos próximos 2 meses.
