What is Childcare Assistance?

The Creche Aid, in a way, is aimed at women who are mothers and work, so it is an allowance to pay for day care for their children or stepchildren, guaranteeing the child safety.

According to the law, it is a mother's right to have a safe place to leave her children while she works. Thus, some companies have their own place for children, so that employees can work more calmly.

However, in some cases, it is optional for the employer to pay for day care, and some do not. Thus, the government makes this allowance available to families.

Which companies are obliged to pay the bonus?

At first, it is not really an obligation under the CLT law, the employer pays for a daycare center for the children of employees, so some families are left without receiving the help, they have to pay with their own salary if they want their children to go to a nursery.

Companies that are required by law to pay for the benefit are those that have at least 30 women, aged over 16 years. These companies, if they are unable to provide an appropriate place for the children and do not pay for an external place, are subject to the payment of a fine.

What is the value of the Day Care Benefit?

Day Care Assistance does not have a preset value, therefore, this must be agreed between the company and the employee.

Unlike other allowances such as the Transport Allowance and Food Voucher, the Creche Allowance cannot be advanced or converted, having the sole purpose of caring for the child.

It is then possible for the company to have its own space for families to leave their children, or even pay a fee for an agreed day care center.

But when the value of a external daycare exceeds the amount stipulated by the company, it is not obliged to pay the remainder, and it is the responsibility of the parents to complete the amount.

How do I apply for Day Care Assistance?

The request to receive Day Care Assistance must be made by the company worker with which it is associated. To apply, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Request an application form from the company's HR department;
  2. Fill out the form with the requested information, such as mother's name, period of stay at the daycare center, monthly fee, contact details of the daycare center, among others;
  3. Present the documents requested by the company, such as the child's birth certificate and proof of legal guardian.
