Currently, WhatsApp does not allow its users to save photos and videos posted by their contacts.

However, it is possible to do this using only a file manager on your cell phone. And with this, you can access shared WhatsApp status for unlimited time.

Using the File Manager

•  Open WhatsApp, watch the status you want to save;
•  Then open your cell phone's file manager;

Generally, most Android phones have their own file manager. But if yours doesn't have its own manager, just install ES File Explorer.

• On the main screen of the manager, find the settings and activate the option to show hidden files;
• Open the phone's internal storage (if the app is not installed on the memory card) and open the WhatsApp folder. Select Media > Statuses;
•  In this folder will be the status you just saw on WhatsApp. Select the ones you want to save and copy to another folder;

And it will be saved on your cell phone.
