Follow the steps below to issue your CURP:

  1. Access the portal Government;
  2. Select the second option “Personal Data”;
  3. Enter personal data in the registration form with name and surname, date of birth, gender and other requested data;
  4. Upon completion, the citizen will be able to view the document and download their CURP in PDF format.

Use of CURP for Mexican citizens

The CURP document has several utilities for citizens of Mexico, such as the following:

  • Register for the SAT;
  • Enroll in any level of study;
  • Make your voting credential (INE);
  • Request a passport;
  • Request credit or microcredit;
  • Access health services;
  • Get a job.

Documents required to take the CURP

The documents required to complete the CURP differ between natural citizens and naturalized foreigners. Look.

If the citizen is Natural country, the necessary documents are:

  • Birth certificate;
  • Certificate of non-registration from CURP;
  • Certificate of Mexican nationality (if you do not have a birth certificate);
  • Official identification (professional card, passport, identity card, voting card, IMSSS or ISSSTE card).

If the citizen is denizen, the necessary documents are:

  • Migration document (issued by INM);
  • D1 diplomatic visa;
  • Official O1 and O4 visas; or
  • S1 and S2 service visas.
