Follow the steps below to issue your CURP:

  1. Access the portal of Government;
  2. Select the second option “Personal Data”;
  3. Put personal data in the registration form with first and last name, date of birth, gender and other requested data;
  4. Upon completion, citizens will be able to view the document and download their CURP in PDF format.

Use of CURP for Mexican citizens

The CURP document has several utilities for citizens of Mexico, such as the following:

  • Register with the SAT;
  • Enroll in any level of study;
  • Make the voting credential (INE);
  • Apply for the passport;
  • Apply for credit or microcredit;
  • Access health services;
  • Get a job.

Documents needed to do the CURP

The documents required to apply for the CURP differ between natural citizens and naturalized foreigners. Look.

If the citizen is Natural country, the required documents are:

  • Birth certificate;
  • CURP non-registration certificate;
  • Mexican nationality certificate (if you do not have a birth certificate);
  • Official identification (professional card, passport, identity card, voting card, IMSSS or ISSSTE card).

If the citizen is denizen, the required documents are:

  • Migration document (issued by INM);
  • D1 diplomatic visa;
  • Official O1 and O4 visas; or
  • S1 and S2 service visas.
