Save your photos used by Google services, as the company's Album Archive will be discontinued by July of this year.
Google has the Album Archive tool, which is a place where images used by users in various company services are stored.
In this service, the user can find:
- Hangouts attachments;
- Blogger Media;
- Google profile pictures;
- And many others.
discontinuation of service
The Google Company Album Archive will cease to exist by the July 19 deadline.
So it will be possible, before that, for users to download and save their images through Google Takeout.
Several users have been receiving e-mails from the company announcing the closure of the service and instructions on how to save everything.
Users who wish to save their images before definitive deletion must access the Google Takeout and download the content.
Other ways to save content
Users will also be able, if they wish, to access each Google service individually to download their photos.
- blogger: contains published images;
- google account: contains profile pictures;
- Google Photos: contains photo albums;
LINK GOOGLE FOTOS - Hangouts: Contains attachments sent by Hangouts.
Hangouts has been replaced by Chat, so the user may be able to find some media through the new Google service.
The images used to customize Gmail themes are also saved in the Album Archive.
As this announcement may be confusing, we state that it is not Google Photos that will be discontinued, nor will photos on that service be deleted.
Only the Album Archive, which was linked to Picasa, which will no longer exist
