Because of this, the Federal Government created the Snack Assistance.

For each age group, the government releases a different amount for the children's families to purchase snack food.

Snack Assistance

Lunch Aid is a benefit for families with children public school students and who are in need.

Families that were already experiencing some financial difficulty, the pandemic made their situation worse. So, so that these children would not be left destitute without school meals, the government created this social program.

The benefit is available in the form of a food card, which allows families to purchase the items necessary to feed their children.

The card is only accepted for spending on food products, no other products are accepted for purchase.

How to receive Merenda Aid?

To receive the Snack aid from the Federal Government, the family needs to follow some steps:

  • Be registered with Bolsa Família;
  • Register with CadÚnico (Cadastro Único);
  • Register in advance in the program to analyze the need for assistance.

If the family needs assistance, but does not have registration with CadÚnico, the person responsible for the minor simply goes to a CadÚnico office to register or contact the city hall in their city.

What is the value of Lunch Aid?

The government, with the creation of this aid, intends for it to be a snack, as provided in schools, during class times, therefore, the benefit will be up to R$ 178.00 (one hundred and seventy-eight reais) per student, there is no limit to the number of people per family.

Payment of aid will be made through PicPay. If any data is irregular, it will be possible for the government to use the data registered by the application itself.

It is also possible to register and monitor the program through the public network, as well as withdraw the aid amount.

After approval and receipt of the benefit, remember to confirm that the amount received is correct. The person responsible can make withdrawals from banks 24 hours a day and if they wish to make the transfer to another account, they must wait 24 hours to receive the assistance.

Emergency Aid, what it is and find out if you meet the conditions to request it.

Caixa Econômica Federal made available this Tuesday (7) the website and application through which informal, self-employed, unemployed and MEIs are able to request emergency aid of R$ 600.

The application must be used by workers who are Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs), informal workers without registration and individual INSS contributors. Those who already receive Bolsa Família, or who are registered in the Cadastro Único, do not need to register through the application. Payment will be made automatically.

What is it:

Emergency Aid is a financial benefit aimed at informal workers, individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEI), self-employed and unemployed people, and aims to provide emergency protection during the period of coping with the crisis caused by the Coronavirus pandemic – COVID 19.

The benefit worth R$ 600.00 will be paid for three months, for up to two people from the same family.

For families in which the woman is solely responsible for household expenses, the amount paid monthly will be R$1,200.00.

Anyone who was in the Single Registry until March 20th, and who meets the Program's rules, will receive it without having to register on the CAIXA website.

Those who receive Bolsa Família may receive Emergency Aid, as long as it is more advantageous. During this period, Bolsa Família will be suspended.

After registering, the person can check whether they will receive emergency aid by checking the website or APP.

Who the Emergency Aid is intended for:

  • people over 18 years of age;
  • people with a monthly income of up to half the minimum wage per person (R$ 522.50);
  • family with a monthly income of up to 3 minimum wages (R$ 3,135);
  • persons who did not receive taxable income above R$ 28,559.70 in 2018.
  • A woman who is a mother and head of the family, and meets the other specifications, will be able to earn R$ 1.2 thousand (two shares) per month.

The applicant must meet one of the conditions below:

  • be the holder of a legal entity (Individual Micro Entrepreneur, or MEI);
  • be registered with the Single Registry (CadÚnico) for Federal Government Social Programs by March 20th;
  • meet the average income requirement (monthly income of up to half a minimum wage per person, and up to 3 minimum wages per family) by March 20, 2020;
  • be an individual or optional contributor to the General Social Security Regime.
