More than 140 thousand credit agreements were extended for individuals and legal entities within the bank. This number is practiced since the announcement of the coronavirus pandemic measures with social isolation.

According to the federal government, there are more than 10 thousand requests daily. Which is agreed by different lines that are part of the attitude defined by the institution, they are working capital, personal credit, real estate credit and vehicle financing.

In a note sent to the press, Itaú Unibanco details that with this attitude, current operations are able to extend the next installment of loans already opened for 60 days, thus maintaining the same rate contracted in principle.

Those customers who are in default or who want to take out a new loan are not eligible for this benefit. In addition to this audience, we also observe those who have contracted other lines of credit, such as a special check.

Also according to Itaú, this attitude was taken as an emergency measure. According to the bank, the purpose is to provide flexibility in paying debts at this challenging time in the economy.

For the director of PF Products at Itaú Unibanco, Flavio Iglesias, the measure was implemented just under a month ago and the bank hopes that more people can join the offer. This way, covering more customers with the new solution.

In addition to the debt extension, Itaú joined the emergency fund to finance the payroll of small and medium-sized companies for the next 2 months.

This is part of a series of attitudes that are being developed by the public and private sector. The federal government is highlighting the approval of other attitudes, such as the example of the coronavoucher.
